01/31/2025, 14:22Last year 2024 turned out to be fruitful for the agro-industrial complex of the country. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev.
The volume of agricultural production totalled 395 billion soms, showing a growth of 106.3%. The processing industry also achieved high results: the volume of production totalled 87 billion soms with a growth rate of 120%. Exports of agricultural products increased, covering more than 70 countries with 60 types of products. In addition, the population of Kyrgyzstan is fully provided with 6 out of 9 basic socially important foodstuffs.
Bakyt Torobaev noted the importance of water resources and said that 5 billion soms will be allocated for irrigation in 2025. The country plans to implement 10 major investment projects in this area. To adapt to climate change, the authorities intend to adjust the cropping pattern and develop export infrastructure: trade and logistics centres, warehouses and certification laboratories.
