Kyrgyzstan has reduced its exports of plants and cuttings by almost eightfold

According to data from the National Statistics Committee for January–March 2026, Kyrgyzstan has seen a sharp decline in exports of live plants, cuttings, layering and mycelium. The volume of shipments fell from 859,600 to 101,900 units compared with the same period last year.

In the first three months of 2026, Kyrgyzstan exported 101,962 units of produce worth $131,300. A year earlier, the volume of exports stood at 859,619 units, worth $988,800. Thus, exports in physical terms fell by approximately 88%, and in monetary terms by almost 87%.

Russia remains the main buyer of Kyrgyz products, but exports there have also fallen significantly — from 660,000 to 86,000 units. In monetary terms, exports fell from $862,900 to $111,900, representing a drop of approximately 87%.

Exports to Uzbekistan fell even more sharply — from 181,900 to 10,900 units, or by approximately 94%. At the same time, it was Uzbekistan that became the country with the highest average product value — around $1.54 per unit.

Exports to Kazakhstan and Iran ceased entirely this year. During the same period last year, 16,600 units worth $88,300 were exported to Kazakhstan, and 1,000 units worth $2,500 to Iran.

Against this backdrop, Tajikistan became the only country to receive shipments for the first time. Between January and March, 5,000 units worth $2,500 were exported there. At the same time, the lowest average price was recorded in Tajikistan — around 50 cents per unit.
