The Minister of Energy in his speech noted that each project aimed at the development of the Kyrgyz energy sector is implemented in accordance with the schedule and on time.

«There are a number of projects aimed at the development of the energy sector. Major projects implemented jointly with the World Bank will be the basis for the future exit from the energy deficit. Under the CASA-1000 megaproject, construction work on the territory of Kyrgyzstan has been fully completed. Under this project, the Datka-Sugd 500 kV line connecting Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is scheduled to be energised on 31 March 2025. Work is continuously underway to install smart meters, modern CIP and cable lines. This, in turn, creates an opportunity to reduce technical losses on electricity. After installation of 500,100 meters, technical losses are expected to be reduced by at least 2% or KGS 400 million per year, and labour resources (500 inspectors) are expected to be optimised by KGS 235 million per year. Total savings will amount to 635 million KGS per year», — the Energy Minister said.

At present, the project on changing the electricity tariff policy has been submitted for public discussion. From the first of May, the price of the tariff will change.

Work on the project ‘Kambarata HPP-1’ is being actively carried out. All works are carried out in accordance with the schedule. In general, each project aimed at the development of the industry is implemented in a timely manner.

In addition, the following projects were presented: KEMS project, which aims to increase hydroelectricity production and ensure integration of renewable energy sources by strengthening the electricity grid in Kyrgyzstan. The project envisages reconstruction of Bystrovskaya HPP;, construction of small Nizhnetarskaya HPP with capacity of 19 MW, construction of substation ‘ISANOVA’ 220/110/10 kV.

Improvement of the MDM system of OJSC ‘CAREC’. World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Tatiana Proskuryakova noted that the data and presentation provided by the Ministry of Energy confirmed the targeted expenditure of funds allocated by the World Bank and expressed gratitude for the work done.
