‘Mbank’ has increased its capital by 5.26 billion KGS through a share issue

“Mbank” raised 5.26 billion KGS to increase its authorised capital. The transaction took place on the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange on 8 June.

According to trading data, the bank carried out a single transaction on the primary market worth 5 billion 259.1 million KGS. A total of 1 billion 52 million shares were issued, each with a nominal value of 5 KGS.

The decision to increase the authorised capital was taken at the annual general meeting on 24 April. At that time, shareholders decided to increase the authorised capital using the retained earnings for 2025. The procedure for issuing and placing additional shares was also approved at that time.

It is important to note that the decision to increase capital was not dictated by regulatory requirements. Even prior to the additional issue, ‘Mbank’ exceeded the minimum capital threshold of 1 billion KGS set by the National Bank – which will come into effect on 1 July – by more than 13 times.

Thus, even before the additional share issue, Mbank ranked third among Kyrgyzstan’s banks in terms of capital, with a figure of 13.5 billion KGS, trailing only the state-owned Eldik Bank (80.2 billion KGS) and Abank (19.8 billion KGS).

Following the capitalisation of profits and the placement of the new share issue, the bank’s capital increased to 18.8 billion KGS. This enabled ‘Mbank’ to further strengthen its position among the country’s largest banks in terms of capital.
