Labor Ministry Reminds: January 11, 2025, Will Be a Working Day in Kyrgyzstan

11 January 2025, which falls on a Saturday, will become a working day for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. This decision was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers as part of the optimisation of the use of weekends and public holidays. This innovation will allow for a more efficient redistribution of working hours during the year.

As a result of the changes, citizens will have a day off from 3 January to 24 February, as well as from 6 January to 10 March. This decision will affect the majority of organisations for which these dates are set as public holidays.

In addition, it is planned to abolish the practice of postponing public holidays in the future. The changes will come into force with the adoption of the new Labour Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will provide for a clearer regulation of working hours and public holidays.
