The result was striking. According to the online service of the State Tax Service, this money could be used to build 1,368 new hospitals across the country (author's note — in 2023, according to the National Statistics Committee, medical assistance to the population was provided by 193 hospitals, 43 primary healthcare organisations, two ambulance stations and more than a thousand first-aid posts), 1,887 city bridges and 174 kindergartens.
It should be noted that the service offers a conditional visualisation of how the state could use tax revenues if the funds were allocated strictly to one area. All you need to do is enter the amount of taxes paid. The platform will instantly show how many social facilities or infrastructure projects the state could finance with this money.
The service interface is simple and bright, aimed at a wide audience. The results can be saved and sent to friends or posted on social media. This also makes the service a way to engage citizens in a dialogue about taxes and the state budget.
‘The calculations are indicative and based on average data — this is not a real budget distribution, but an educational model,’ the Tax Service emphasises.
Nevertheless, the platform allows every taxpayer to assess the scale of their contribution to the country's economy.
