Seven accomplices registered the car as spare parts to avoid paying taxes

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have uncovered a large-scale scheme involving the illegal registration of vehicles, in which officials from a state agency and a group of citizens were involved. They helped to register vehicles using forged documents.

According to the investigation, Honda cars were imported into the country as spare parts kits. The cars were then illegally registered as full-fledged vehicles. This allowed the perpetrators to avoid paying customs duties and obtain illegal profits.

The preliminary damage to the state is estimated at more than KGS 15.6 million.

A criminal case has been opened under the article “Abuse of official position.” Charges have been brought against seven citizens—they were initially taken into custody, but later the preventive measure was changed.

The investigation is ongoing—other participants in the scheme are being identified.
