"Karakol" Airport will resume operations on December 9

Karakol airport will resume its operations.  On December 9, Asman Airlines will make the first flight to Karakol. This was reported by the "Manas" International Airport.

Now, it will be possible to reach the resort town in just one hour instead of the usual 6 hours by car.

Karakol Airport was established in 1971, and the runway was put into operation  in 1978, allowing it to accommodate aircraft such as Yak-40, L-410, An-2, An-26, An-28, as well as all types of helicopters. However, after 2018, when the airport received its last charter flight on the route Dubai – Tashkent – Bishkek – Karakol, its operations were suspended.

In 2022, President Sadyr Japarov set the task of reconstructing the international airport, and since then, work has begun on restoring the infrastructure. On November 25, 2011, the airport was granted international status, confirming the importance of this transport hub for the region.
