01/05/2026, 09:02Alma Finance Bank CJSC submitted an application for a license to conduct banking operations at the very end of 2025. This was reported by the National Bank in response to a request from the Akchabar portal.
As specified by the regulator, as of December 16, no application for a license had been received from Alma Finance Bank, but by December 29, it was already under consideration. Thus, the bank actually entered the licensing process in the last days of the outgoing year.
Applications from Asman Bank CJSC and Muras Bank CJSC are at a similar stage of review. At the same time, Kylim Bank OJSC, owned by the Ministry of Finance, had not submitted an application for a license to the National Bank as of December 29.
Separately, the regulator noted that Freedom Bank Kazakhstan had not submitted an application to the National Bank for permission to establish a bank called Freedom Bank KG, either on December 16 or December 29, 2025.
We would like to add that, against the backdrop of the license application submitted on December 30, 2025, the National Bank approved a key personnel appointment at Alma Finance Bank, approving the candidacy of Bakhtiar Isaev for the position of deputy chairman of the board.
