The number of compulsory motor third-party liability insurance contracts concluded increased by 462,100 compared to the same period last year. This was one of the key factors in the growth of the insurance industry. In just six months, 1.61 million insurance contracts were concluded in the country, almost a third of which were compulsory motor third-party liability insurance contracts.
Today, the insured amount under CMTPL contracts exceeds 340 billion KGS. At the same time, insurance companies have already paid out 47 million soms to customers since the beginning of the year until 1 July. This is 60% more than a year earlier.
It should be added that the growing interest in car insurance in Kyrgyzstan is directly linked to the introduction of fines for individuals without compulsory motor third-party liability insurance from 1 July this year. The fine for individuals is 3,000 KGS, and for legal entities and foreign-registered vehicles (effective from April 2023) — 13,000 KGS.
