10/24/2025, 14:13In Kyrgyzstan, commercial banks are planned to be allowed to conduct operations with virtual assets on a pilot basis. This was announced by Farhat Iminov, head of the Secretariat for the Development of Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, at a meeting of the National Council for the Development of Virtual Assets.
According to him, the initiative is aimed at testing mechanisms for integrating digital instruments into the traditional financial system. Risk and security control will be carried out by the National Bank.
Iminov noted that the pilot program will help assess the potential advantages and vulnerabilities of banks working with digital assets before launching the mechanism in full format.
