    More than half of Kyrgyz spending is on food

    In the first four months of 2025, people in Kyrgyzstan became more active in buying goods - the volume of retail trade (excluding the sale of cars and motorcycles) increased by almost 15.2% compared to the same period last year. In total, from January through April, goods worth 164.8 billion KGS were sold.

    Growth was recorded in all regions, except Jalal-Abad oblast, where sales, on the contrary, slightly decreased by about 3.8%.

    Sales grew most strongly in Osh - by 31.5%, in Chui Oblast - by 21.7% and in Bishkek - by 20.4%.

    Of all purchases, more than half were food products - 54.5%, the rest - non-food products such as clothing, household appliances and other.
