Dayirbek Orunbekov commented on the conflict between construction workers from Kyrgyzstan and China

Dayirbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy department of the presidential administration, commented on the incident that arose between Kyrgyz citizens and Chinese citizens working in the construction sector.

Recently, a conflict arose due to a road dispute between truck drivers.

According to him, some are trying to use this case for their own personal gain.

«Where there are people, there are quarrels; that is human nature. It does not depend on nationality or race. More than 1.5 million of our compatriots work abroad, and they too sometimes find themselves in conflict situations. Therefore, do not give in to provocations», — he said.

Dayirbek Oronbekov also noted that construction work is actively developing in Kyrgyzstan, and there is a shortage of labour, so some specialists are temporarily being brought in from China. A major infrastructure project is also being implemented in Kyrgyzstan — the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, where Chinese workers and engineers are employed. He added that after the completion of construction, our country will be able to receive over $500 million annually, which is comparable to the income of Kumtor.

«However, unlike gold, which is depleted, the railway will provide a permanent and stable income. Most importantly, it will allow us to stop being a landlocked country and gain access to world markets and sea routes. Currently, we are solely dependent on motorways. Therefore, let us not support those who want Kyrgyzstan to remain isolated and dependent. Let us not add fuel to the fire of provocateurs; let us think broadly and consider the future», — concluded Oronbekov.
