Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev made a welcoming speech. He noted that the National Development Programme of the Republic until 2026 focuses on creating strong and independent regions, including by investing in them and promoting the formation of regional growth points.
The programme envisages the achievement of several goals: an annual economic growth rate of 5% on average; achievement of GDP per capita of at least $1.5 thousand; improvement of the KR index in the Human Development Index rating by 5 positions and reduction of the poverty rate to 20%, including child poverty to 25%.
To achieve these goals, fruitful cooperation between government agencies and development institutions is necessary, as well as the active participation of each institution in the implementation of reforms in socio-economic spheres.
The state takes various measures to protect, develop and support entrepreneurs and businesses. The Minister mentioned that the demand for food is rapidly increasing, especially in developing countries. In the next four to five years, Kyrgyzstan should fully ensure its food independence and become a leading supplier of high-margin, environmentally friendly products, which opens up great new opportunities for the country. The Minister also emphasised the need to use the available natural advantages and hydropower resources to produce deep-processed, freeze-dried agricultural products, which can become an important competitive advantage in the international market.
Stimulating business, especially in the country's regions, will contribute to food security, health security, sustainable industrial development and environmental and social risk reduction. In conclusion, the minister said that the country's leadership has set the task to intensify financing of agricultural clusters, trade and logistics centres, vegetable storage facilities, projects of domestic producers, light industry, production of environmentally friendly products, agro-processors and exporters. These projects form the basis for a strong and prosperous economy.
"Remember that every small thing is a step towards a big change. Let's move forward together, realising innovation, creating jobs and contributing to the well-being of our regions and the entire country,’ the Minister urged.
The event showcased successful examples of small projects and discussed their further development and attracting international investment. The event's objectives include showcasing the work of the demonstration workshop, presenting partner initiatives, attracting investment and establishing partnerships to support small businesses. The Centre provides practical solutions for entrepreneurs and farmers to start small and medium-sized production, processing and production of local products. Project implementation will be supported by the Social Partnership Fund for Regional Development, a public fund established by the Cabinet of Ministers.
