10/24/2024, 12:12Today at the Jogorku Kenesh meeting, MP Baktybek Maripov expressed concern about the situation with the apple prices that farmers sell to processing companies.
According to him, farmers receive only 2-3 KGS per kilo of apples, while intermediaries sell them for 20-30 KGS. Such a price difference, according to the deputy, indicates unfair competition and unfavourable conditions for farmers.
The deputy believes that the situation requires urgent intervention by government agencies. He called on the Ministry of Agriculture to support farmers in export issues so that they could get a fair price for their products.
The MP also suggested considering a temporary ban on apple imports, arguing that Kyrgyzstan has enough of its crop. According to Maripov, such measures would help protect the domestic farmers' interests.
