The MP claimed that Kyrgyzkomur employees have organised illegal coal exports to Uzbekistan

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on 9 October, deputy Yrysbek Atazhanov stated about the corruption scheme in the SE ‘Kyrgyzkomur’, in which, according to him, the deputy director of the enterprise and the director of the Osh branch are involved.

The deputy noted that there are more than 30 deposits in Sulukty, but only 7 companies export coal to Uzbekistan, and the directors receive 40 cents per tonne of coal. Atazhanov called for urgent action against these individuals and threatened to set up a parliamentary commission to conduct an audit.

Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev responded that no company can export coal to Uzbekistan because of the current ban, and only Kyrgyzkomur has the right to export coal.

However, the MP insisted on finding out which companies are involved in the corruption scheme and asked the Minister to take this issue under his control.
