11 km of power lines have been built for Azerbaijan’s new five-star hotel on Issyk-Kul

The Issyk-Kul Electricity Network Enterprise, a branch of OJSC ‘NESK’, has completed the first phase of work to ensure a reliable electricity supply to Azerbaijan’s new five-star hotel complex. As part of the project, the energy company has constructed 11 km of new power lines using self-supporting insulated wire and installed 345 reinforced concrete pylons.

At the same time, the 110/10 kV ‘Dolinka’ substation is being modernised. As part of the upgrade, two existing transformers with capacities of 10 MVA and 16 MVA will be replaced by two modern units, each with a capacity of 40 MVA. Once the work is complete, the substation’s capacity will increase from 26 MVA to 80 MVA.

At this stage, the first 40 MVA power transformer has been commissioned. Once the second transformer has been installed, the reliability of the electricity supply to settlements on the eastern shore of Issyk-Kul, tourist facilities in the region and the new five-star hotel will be improved.
