Revenue generated by the Medicines Department from public services and grants has been authorised to be used to pay salaries

The Cabinet of Ministers has authorised the Department of Medicines and Medical Devices under the Ministry of Health to allocate its funds towards staff remuneration. The relevant resolution was signed on 18 August.

A separate clause concerning staff salaries has been added to the list of the department’s expenditure categories. The procedure for calculating and paying salaries must be approved by the Ministry of Health.

The department’s funds are generated from payments for public services, publishing activities, grants from international organisations and other sources of income not prohibited by law.

Previously, these funds were authorised for use in providing logistical support, staff training, organising conferences and seminars, paying for banking services and external experts, international cooperation, and incentive allowances for staff. However, the regulations did not contain a specific provision regarding the use of funds for the payment of salaries.
