Reaching this milestone reflects not only quantitative growth but also the industry’s transition to a more systematic development model. Tourism is strengthening its position as one of the key sectors of the economy, providing employment, regional development, and a multiplier effect for related industries.
At the end of the year, the industry’s contribution to GDP stood at 3.8%, and gross value added reached 74.4 billion KGS.
This growth was driven by several factors:
Today, approximately 129,000 businesses are active in the tourism sector, which underscores its significance for the economy and the high level of business involvement.
Authorities are also emphasizing the transition to a sustainable model of tourism development. Priorities include environmental sustainability, the preservation of cultural heritage, and more balanced regional development.
