Tourism revenue in Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1 billion

By the end of 2025, Kyrgyzstan’s tourism industry surpassed the $1 billion mark in export revenue for the first time. According to data from the National Statistics Committee, revenue from the export of tourism services totaled $1.98 billion, an increase of 8.1% compared to 2024.

Reaching this milestone reflects not only quantitative growth but also the industry’s transition to a more systematic development model. Tourism is strengthening its position as one of the key sectors of the economy, providing employment, regional development, and a multiplier effect for related industries.

At the end of the year, the industry’s contribution to GDP stood at 3.8%, and gross value added reached 74.4 billion KGS.

This growth was driven by several factors:

  • active promotion of Kyrgyzstan in international markets;
  • infrastructure development and improved service quality;
  • expansion of tourist flows;
  • growth in domestic tourism and entrepreneurial activity in the regions.

Today, approximately 129,000 businesses are active in the tourism sector, which underscores its significance for the economy and the high level of business involvement.

Authorities are also emphasizing the transition to a sustainable model of tourism development. Priorities include environmental sustainability, the preservation of cultural heritage, and more balanced regional development.
