07/17/2025, 12:19According to the latest World Bank report, ‘Listening to the Kyrgyz Republic,’ household financial confidence has increased significantly and food security has strengthened over the past three and a half years.
According to the study, the number of families who feel financially secure has reached 80%.
This is 2.5 times higher than in December 2021, when only 33% of respondents reported that their financial situation was stable. Confidence in the current economic situation in the country has also increased, from 72% in early 2022 to 91% in June 2025.
The report pays special attention to food security issues. The share of families who are confident in their food security increased from 41% to 86%. The number of those who were forced to take out loans or sell property to buy food decreased significantly, from 32% to 7% and from 16% to 2%, respectively.
