The EAEU needs a technological breakthrough — Kyrgyzstan is ready to participate — Artem Novikov

Against the backdrop of Kyrgyzstan's decade of membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, experts emphasise that the union needs a ‘second wind.’ In the context of sanctions and limited access to technology, the development of integration requires a special focus on high-tech industries. This was stated by Artem Novikov, head of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, at a conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.

«It is proposed to move from traditional trade to the creation of joint production chains in mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals and the chemical industry. Such cooperation will enable the EAEU to reduce its dependence on external equipment suppliers and stimulate domestic investment», — said Artem Novikov.

He noted that the main condition for success will be the minimisation of bureaucracy and the launch of effective tools for companies.
