The EAEU will simplify the process of obtaining permits for large and dangerous goods

On December 23, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) approved a plan of measures aimed at harmonizing the procedures for registration and issuance of special permits for heavy and oversized vehicles, as well as for the transportation of dangerous goods.

These changes will apply to international road transportation on roads included in the list of Eurasian transport corridors and routes.

The measures are expected to take place in three main areas. These are the determination of the maximum terms of issuance and validity of a special permit; harmonization of the form of the application and the information specified in it, as well as the convergence of requirements for their minimization; automation of the procedure for submitting an application for a special permit and its receipt in electronic form at the applicant's location.

Implementation of these measures will make it possible to simplify the process of registration and receipt of special permits by carriers, as well as to eliminate the restriction included in the Register of obstacles (“White Book”) operating in the internal market of the EAEU.
