04/20/2026, 11:13Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev chaired a cabinet meeting to review the country’s socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2026, budget implementation, the outcomes of a working visit to Washington, and preparations for spring fieldwork.
According to preliminary data, Kyrgyzstan’s gross domestic product for January–March 2026 stood at 428.6 billion KGS, an increase of 10.1% compared with the same period last year.
The highest growth was recorded in construction – 29.6%. Industry grew by 14%, the service sector by 7.7%, and agriculture by 2.8%.
The industrial sector showed marked structural dynamics. Chemical production grew 3.1-fold, and pharmaceuticals 1.6-fold. Vehicle production increased by 49.5%, and mineral extraction by 30.4%. Growth was also recorded in the production of construction materials (+39.7%), the food industry (+17.9%), oil refining (+14.6%) and the production of base metals (+10.5%).
Investment in fixed assets for the reporting period amounted to 77.3 billion KGS, an increase of 25.5%. This growth was driven by a 1.2-fold increase in domestic funding sources and a 1.5-fold increase in external sources.
Separately, the meeting reviewed the results of the delegation’s working visit to Washington, where agreements were reached with international financial institutions and technology companies.
Following the meeting, the relevant authorities were instructed to ensure the implementation of budgetary plans and to strengthen oversight of spring fieldwork, with a focus on the country’s food security.
