Kyrgyzstan's honey exports have slowed down due to rising prices and non-compliance with standards

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, this year, purchase prices for honey in Kyrgyzstan have increased significantly, which has led to a slowdown in its exports.

While last year's honey cost 200-250 KGS per kilogramme, prices have risen to 350-400 KGS per kilogramme in 2024. This has made it difficult for the Kyrgyz honey to compete in international markets.
In addition, importers noted that honey supplied from Kyrgyzstan last year did not meet international quality standards, adding to the difficulties in export activities.

"In this regard, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry is carrying out comprehensive work to improve the situation and increase the quality of products. The Ministry also recommends honey producers to continue working on bringing their products in line with international standards to successfully enter foreign markets,’ the ministry said.
