Cucumber and gherkins exports from Kyrgyzstan have dropped to zero

In January - August 2024, exports of cucumbers and gherkins from Kyrgyzstan fell to zero. According to the National Statistics Committee, the republic exported 106.7 tonnes of these products over the analogous period in 2023.

Kazakhstan and Russia were the main buyers of Kyrgyz cucumbers and gherkins last year. 28.3 tonnes were supplied to Kazakhstan and 78.4 tonnes to Russia. This year, deliveries to both countries have completely stopped.

The reasons for the sharp drop in exports are still unclear.
