Tire exports from Kyrgyzstan decreased, but new markets have emerged

Exports of tires from Kyrgyzstan for nine months, both new and used tires decreased compared to the same period in 2023. Such data is provided by the National Statistical Committee.

However, there is a reorientation of export flows and the emergence of new markets.

Exports of new tires fell by 25.7%, amounting to 6 thousand 663 units against 8 thousand 966 in 2023. A sharp decline in shipments to Russia (from 8 thousand 206 to 1 thousand 884 tires, revenue fell from $553 thousand 600 to $112 thousand 100) was the main factor of this decline.

At the same time, the growth of exports to Kazakhstan (from 708 to 4 thousand 127 tires, total revenue increased from $37 thousand 400 to $587 thousand 200) and the United Arab Emirates (from 40 to 608 tires, revenue increased from $31.1 thousand to $629.2 thousand) was noticeable. The appearance of small but important export volumes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Congo, Uzbekistan and Switzerland may indicate the beginning of diversification of markets.

The used tire segment also saw a decline in exports, from 903 to 577 units. A drop in shipments to Kazakhstan (from 832 to 0 tires) significantly affected the overall picture. However, the growth of exports to Spain (167 tires, $8.1 thousand) and Thailand (317 tires, $7.9 thousand) demonstrates the potential for the development of new export destinations.
