Initially, the concept of the State Mortgage Company was to help public sector employees to buy their housing. Now the organization has turned into an ordinary commercial structure. This was stated today, on September 19, during the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh by MP Sultanbay Aizhigitov.

He explained that the queues reach commercial borrowers first, and only then budgetary employees.

” Moreover, budgetary employees who are in line for a 2- or 3-room apartment are offered to take a 1-room apartment. In case of refusal, they are asked to sign a waiver. It looks like a kind of incomprehensible machinations,” Aizhigitov said.

He emphasized that because the State Mortgage Company is moving away from the initial concept, budgetary employees, for whom the program was designed, can not get a state mortgage.

"People complain, especially medics and teachers. The SMC should give apartments to state-funded workers first. Why was it permitted to provide apartments on a commercial basis?" - the deputy angered.
