State insurance company compensates Bishkek resident for fire damage

The State Insurance Organisation (SIO) paid insurance compensation in the amount of 849,029 soms to Venera Suleimanova, a resident of the capital, whose house was seriously damaged as a result of a fire caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring.

The incident occurred on the night of 1 July 2025 at 5 Obskaya Street. The flames engulfed the living quarters, causing significant material damage. Thanks to the recommendation of the neighbourhood representative, Venera Radzhibayeva, who is a disabled person of the second group, she had previously applied to the State Social Insurance Agency and insured her home free of charge under the compulsory residential property insurance programme (OSZ).

According to current legislation, disabled persons of groups I and II are considered socially vulnerable and are entitled to preferential, free insurance of property against fire and natural disasters.

On 16 July, all the necessary documents, including the fire service report, were submitted to the State Social Insurance Agency. And on 24 July, following consideration of the case, the victim was paid the full insurance compensation.

«This case clearly demonstrates how important it is to take out even a free OSZ policy. Thanks to it, citizens, especially those from socially vulnerable groups, receive real financial protection in difficult life situations», — noted the Bishkek branch of OJSC GSO.
