Kyrgyz citizens abroad can start answering up to 5 working days in advance

On 21 April, a draft law proposing to protect the rights of Kyrgyz citizens abroad was submitted for public discussion. The document was published on the website of the Jogorku Kenesh.

The draft suggests that now embassies and consulates will be obliged to consider written and electronic appeals of citizens no longer than 5 working days. It also stipulates that all government agencies and diplomatic institutions must assist in protecting the rights of citizens outside the country - including in emergency situations, in case of violation of rights, loss of documents and other difficulties.

At present, more than 500,000 Kyrgyz are abroad, and the number of appeals to diplomatic missions is constantly growing. The bill is aimed at helping people faster and more effectively.
