Humanitarian cooperation is becoming the new currency of trust between countries — Amangeldiev

Danyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, stated that humanitarian cooperation is now becoming one of the key instruments for building trust between states and creating the conditions for long-term partnership.

He made this statement at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) during the panel session ‘Synergy between business and government bodies as an effective mechanism for humanitarian policy in the field of international relations’.

According to Amangeldiev, in today’s world, humanitarian ties play a role no less important than trade and economic cooperation, as they contribute to the development of intercultural dialogue and the creation of a favourable environment for cooperation between countries.

“Humanitarian cooperation is becoming one of the most important tools for building trust between states, developing intercultural dialogue and creating a favourable environment for long-term partnership,” he emphasised.

The First Deputy Chairman also highlighted the role of business in the development of international humanitarian ties. According to him, sustainable economic development is impossible without investment in people, their knowledge, skills and creative potential.

He emphasised that the development of public-private partnerships remains one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan’s state policy, and that joint efforts by the state, business and society enable a more effective response to contemporary challenges.

As part of the forum, Amangeldiev also took part in the official opening of the SPIEF, where he spoke about the high growth rates of Kyrgyzstan’s economy. He noted that the republic’s first full participation in the forum is of particular significance, as the SPIEF has become one of the largest international platforms for discussing investment projects and developing economic ties.

According to him, relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia are based not only on economic interaction but also on strong humanitarian ties. At the same time, cooperation between the two countries is gradually shifting from traditional trade to joint production, industrial cooperation and the implementation of major investment projects.

Separately, the First Deputy Chairman highlighted the importance of the Eurasian Economic Union for Kyrgyzstan. He noted that participation in the EAEU has enabled domestic producers to gain access to a large market, whilst trade and economic ties with the member states have been significantly strengthened.

Speaking about the region’s prospects, Amangeldiev stated that the continued growth of Eurasian countries would be linked to deeper integration, the development of transport corridors, the digital economy, industrial cooperation and technological projects.

“Our task now is not simply to maintain high performance figures, but to ensure the quality of this growth: to create modern production facilities, increase labour productivity, develop technologies and achieve sustainable growth in citizens’ incomes,” he noted.
