    India starts supplying bananas to Kyrgyzstan

    In the first quarter of 2025, Kyrgyzstan imported almost 6 thousand tons of bananas, which is slightly more than the figure for the same period of 2024 - 5.8 thousand tons. This is reported in the official data on foreign trade.

    Ecuadorian banana is the leader without competition
    More than 90% of all bananas imported to Kyrgyzstan in the first quarter of this year came from Ecuador. A total of 5,397.3 tons of products were imported. For comparison, in January-March 2024, 5 thousand 32.6 tons were imported from Ecuador.

    An interesting detail was the appearance of a new destination - India, from where 41.8 tons of bananas were imported for the first time. Earlier there were no supplies from there.
    At the same time, Turkey completely dropped out of the list of suppliers: in 2024, 73.5 tons came from there, and in 2025 - zero.

    There was also a decrease in volumes from China - from 362.4 to 163.8 tons and Russia - from 430.2 to 391.2 tons.
