According to the investigation, the inspector conducted an inspection at a building materials store and told the entrepreneur that he allegedly had to pay about 1 million KGS in taxes. However, he offered to “resolve the issue” for 200,000 KGS.
The entrepreneur initially agreed and gave him the money, but later changed his mind and went to the police. On July 22, when the inspector tried to return part of the bribe — $2,200 — he was caught red-handed by officers from the Interior Ministry's Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.
The investigation is ongoing.
