Investment in Kyrgyzstan reached $950 million in 2025, with almost a quarter coming from CIS countries

Foreign direct investment inflows into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $950 million in 2025, of which around 23% came from CIS member states.

According to Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, speaking at the second meeting of CIS heads of government in Baku, direct investment in Kyrgyzstan last year amounted to $950 million, of which $220 million came from CIS countries. This represents approximately 23.2% of the total. Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with the organisation’s member states reached $3.3 billion.

Kasymaliev emphasised that the CSTO today goes beyond cultural cooperation and is becoming an economic hub of the Eurasian region. The combined gross domestic product of the member states exceeds $2.4 trillion, and the population stands at around 160 million people. In 2025, average economic growth in the region stood at 6%, which is almost double the global average.

Under Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the TAC, more than 170 events have been held in recent years, 10 cooperation platforms have been launched, and investment projects have been implemented in the energy, transport logistics and infrastructure sectors. Key initiatives include the Turkic Investment Fund, the ‘Turk-Trade’ platform, and the development of green energy with projects totalling over 6,000 MW and investments of $4.7 billion.

The Prime Minister also called on the member states of the Turkic Council to actively participate in the Sixth World Nomad Games, which will take place in Kyrgyzstan from 1 to 6 September 2026.
