The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that over the past 10 years, Gazprom Kyrgyzstan has become a key player in the country's gasification. During this time, the gasification rate increased from 22% in 2014 to 40% in 2024, which became possible due to major projects on the construction and reconstruction of the main gas pipeline. Over 1 thousand 400 kilometres of street gas networks were built and about 20 thousand jobs were created during this period.
Akylbek Zhaparov also stressed that investments in infrastructure modernisation exceeded 32 billion KGS, which is much more than initially planned. He highlighted the contribution of the Gazprom to Children programme, thanks to which sports and recreational complexes were built across the country.
The Prime Minister also emphasised the important role of gasification in economic growth and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens. Over 10 years, the volume of natural gas consumption has increased from 210 to 500 million cubic metres.
In addition, Zhaparov emphasised that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia extends not only to gasification but also includes such areas as education, culture and art. He noted the importance of Russia's contribution to Kyrgyzstan's educational system development, including the transfer of school buses and financing the construction of new schools.
In conclusion, Akylbek Zhaparov expressed hope for further strengthening of partnership relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia and emphasised the importance of joint efforts to achieve common goals in energy and other key areas.
