Iran, Turkey, and Afghanistan have stopped supplying apples and pears to the Kyrgyz Republic

According to the National Statistics Committee, Kyrgyzstan imported 4,348.6 tons of apples, pears, and quinces in January–June 2025, which is 58% less than in the same period last year.

The decline in supplies is due to changes among supplier countries. Iran, which was the third largest supplier of apples to the country in the first half of 2024, no longer supplies these fruits. Turkey and Afghanistan have also stopped supplying. In addition, China, one of the largest fruit suppliers, has reduced its supply by almost 1.8 times.

As a result, the main supplier countries are now Poland (2,048.2 tons), China (1,452.9 tons), and Uzbekistan (782.9 tons). Kazakhstan and Russia supplied relatively small volumes: 54.9 and 5.9 tons, respectively.
