The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to increase the authorized capital of pawnshops to 20 million KGS

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has submitted for consideration a draft resolution that provides for a phased increase in the minimum authorized capital for pawnshops.

According to the document, the following thresholds are proposed:

  • from July 1, 2026 — at least 7 million KGS;
  • from July 1, 2027 — at least 14 million KGS;
  • from July 1, 2028 — at least 20 million KGS.

The draft also proposes to approve new Regulations on the minimum requirements for the organization of pawnshops and to recognize the previous resolutions of 2017 and 2022 as invalid.

Currently, the minimum authorized capital for pawnshops in Kyrgyzstan is 3 million KGS. This requirement was established on January 1, 2025, following changes in financial market regulation.
