Cabinet Approves Regulation on Student Nutrition in State and Municipal Schools

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has officially approved the Regulation on the organization of student nutrition in state and municipal general education institutions. The corresponding decision was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, with the aim of creating optimal conditions for providing diverse, nutritious, and healthy meals for students in general education institutions, ensuring the safety of school meals. This document has been developed in accordance with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Education" and the Action Plan of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2024, directed towards implementing the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026. Local state administrations and local self-government bodies (upon agreement) are tasked to allocate funds, wherever possible, within their local budgets for 2025 and subsequent years, to create the necessary conditions for organizing nutrition in general education institutions and to support the nutrition of students in difficult life situations. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic is instructed to certify, by the end of 2025, unqualified staff working in the food units of general education institutions and to systematically enhance the qualifications of employees regarding the organization of school nutrition.
