Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev held a meeting with Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency Yoshifumi Yoshikawa. The talks took place on January 29 in Bishkek.

During the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliyev emphasized that projects implemented with the support of JICA have made a significant contribution to improving the welfare of the country's population. According to him, cooperation with the Japanese agency is long-term in nature, and the initiatives implemented have a sustainable socio-economic effect.

Examples of successful partnerships included the “One Village, One Product” project, aimed at developing regional entrepreneurship, and the Japanese Government Scholarship Program (JDS), which contributes to the training of qualified personnel for the public sector in Kyrgyzstan.

The parties also discussed the current progress of grant and technical assistance projects in the areas of transport, health, energy, and human resource development. It was noted that these areas remain key to the socio-economic development of the republic.

A total of 43 projects have been implemented in Kyrgyzstan with the support of JICA during the period of cooperation. The year 2026 also marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of the JICA office in Kyrgyzstan.
