During the event, it was noted that due to the dry summer and increased electricity consumption, the volume of water in the Toktogul reservoir was 1.6 billion cubic meters less than a year ago.
“In these conditions, providing the population with electricity remains one of the most important tasks. Strategic projects in the energy sector have already been launched, but the issues of ongoing control have not been canceled,” Kasymaliyev noted.
The head of the cabinet was informed that the project to reconstruct the Toktogul HPP, where four hydroelectric units were replaced, has been fully completed. This provided an additional 240 MW of capacity, increasing the station's installed capacity to 1,440 MW. Nevertheless, until large facilities such as the Kambarata HPP-1 are commissioned, there is still a need to save electricity.
Kasymaliyev appealed to all ministries, state agencies, and local authorities to step up their efforts to educate the public, reminding them of the need to use electricity sparingly during the winter.
Special attention was paid at the meeting to the issues of supplying coal to the population and budgetary organizations. The Cabinet of Ministers instructed to strictly control prices and prevent their unjustified growth, as well as to establish uninterrupted fuel supplies to the regions.
