    Kyrgyz delegation discussed with China the construction of a hydropower plant in Kyrgyzstan

    Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources Bakyt Torobaev and a Kyrgyz delegation visited the world's largest hydroelectric power plant “Three Gorges”, which is located in the Hubei Province of the People's Republic of China.

    The delegation included the Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev, heads and specialists of specialized state bodies, including the “Directorate of Power Plants under Construction” and “Electric Power Plants”.

    Representatives of the Chinese hydropower industry, including those from the Department of External Relations of Hubei Province, told the Kyrgyz delegation about the work of the Three Gorges HPP. During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation in hydropower.

    The Kyrgyz delegation invited the Chinese partners to visit Kyrgyzstan and consider opportunities for constructing HPPs in the country. It should be noted that “Three Gorges” is the largest HPP in the world, located on the Yangtze River in China with a total capacity of 22,250 MW. The dam's height is 185 meters, and its length is 2.3 km.
