07/22/2026, 10:21More than 35 Kyrgyz enterprises from the textile and garment sectors are taking part in a three-day business mission to Uzbekistan, which is taking place from 19 to 21 July as part of the ‘Export Acceleration’ programme. This was announced by the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
The event was organised by the Kyrgyz Trade Representation in Uzbekistan, the state agency ‘Kyrgyz Export’ and the Textile Development Centre. The delegation comprised 52 representatives from domestic companies interested in expanding their exports and seeking new partners.
On the first day of the programme, participants visited the international B2B exhibition TFT Expo 2026, where they familiarised themselves with the products of ready-to-wear manufacturers and industry trends, and held initial negotiations with potential business partners.
One of the key events was a meeting with representatives of Uzum Market, Uzbekistan’s largest marketplace. The Kyrgyz entrepreneurs visited the company’s logistics centre, learnt how the fulfilment system works and discussed opportunities for listing and selling their products via the online platform.
Following the meeting, four Kyrgyz entrepreneurs were assisted in registering legal entities in Uzbekistan. This will enable the companies to operate officially in the local market and sell their goods via Uzum Market.
The business mission’s programme also included visits to major textile enterprises in Uzbekistan, including
‘Uz Tex’ and Indigo Garments. Participants will familiarise themselves with production processes and discuss prospects for cooperation between enterprises in the two countries.
As the organisers note, the main aim of the business mission is to strengthen trade and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as to expand export opportunities for domestic manufacturers of textile and clothing products.
