06/17/2025, 17:40Kyrgyzstan and Japan signed two agreements totaling 900 million yen. The ceremony took place on June 13, 2025, at the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. The documents were signed with the participation of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Government of Japan, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The first project, the Socio-Economic Development Program, provides for the allocation of 500 million yen for the supply of modern medical equipment. The second, the JDS Scholarship Program, worth 399 million yen, will enable 20 Kyrgyz civil servants to pursue master's and doctoral studies at Japanese universities.
The projects are expected to start in 2025 and will help develop healthcare, education, and strengthen human resources. The sides stressed the importance of partnership for Kyrgyzstan's sustainable social and economic growth.
