09/20/2026, 09:00On 19 September, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, met with the Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, and the President of the Utah State Senate, Stuart Adams. The parties discussed cooperation in the economy, investment, tourism, mining, education and finance, as well as the possibility of establishing direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and the US.

The meeting took place at the State Capitol in Salt Lake City as part of Zhaparov’s working visit to the US.

The President also invited the Governor of Utah to visit Kyrgyzstan. Spencer Cox accepted the invitation.
Prior to the meeting, Japarov arrived in Utah, where he also planned to learn about American experience in the fields of tourism and sustainable development in mountainous regions. After Utah, the President will travel to New York to take part in the events of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
