Kyrgyzstan imported 24,400 tonnes of potatoes in the first half of the year: 86.5 per cent came from China

Between January and June 2026, Kyrgyzstan imported potatoes worth 900.3 million KGS. This is according to data from the National Statistics Committee.

Over the first half of the year, 24,400 tonnes of potatoes were imported into the country. Of this total, 86.5 per cent, or 21,100 tonnes, came from China.

In addition, potatoes were supplied to Kyrgyzstan from the following countries:

• the Netherlands – 1,623.3 tonnes;
• Germany – 834.2 tonnes;
• Kazakhstan – 415.4 tonnes;
• Pakistan – 305.4 tonnes;
• Iran – 48.9 tonnes;
• Russia – 31.4 tonnes;
• Uzbekistan – 24.7 tonnes.

By way of comparison, 26,100 tonnes of potatoes were imported into Kyrgyzstan during the same period last year.
