    Kyrgyzstan has started importing apples and pears from Afghanistan

    In January-September 2024, imports of apples, pears and quince to Kyrgyzstan increased significantly compared to 2023 (9 months). According to the National Statistical Committee, the total volume of imports amounted to 13 thousand 772.3 tons, which is more than twice as much as in 2023 (5 thousand 997 tons).

    The most significant increase in imports is observed from Poland (more than twofold growth, from 1 thousand 805.5 to 3 thousand 838.1 tons), Uzbekistan (more than twofold growth, from 1 thousand 709.9 to 3 thousand 819.6 tons) and China (more than sevenfold growth, from 459 to 3 thousand 245 tons). Kyrgyzstan also started importing from Afghanistan - 63.9 tons.

    Imports from some countries such as Kazakhstan, Turkey and Lithuania, on the contrary, decreased.
