Kyrgyzstan is a promising partner for investors in the field of geological exploration, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources

Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Meder Mashiev is participating in the Kyrgyz delegation at London Mining Week events taking place in London.

The minister took part in a plenary session with Central Asian ministers as part of the Critical Minerals Association conference, where he briefly spoke about Kyrgyzstan's potential and the work being done to attract investment in the critical minerals sector.

He also took part in a government round table on critical minerals and the 13th Eurasian Mining and Exploration Conference.

Meder Mashiev gave a presentation on the development of a strategy for the critical minerals sector in Kyrgyzstan. In his speech, he noted that Kyrgyzstan is a country with a rapidly developing economy in Central Asia, with new investment opportunities in the mining sector.

The minister also shared information on why Kyrgyzstan is a promising partner for international investors. In particular, he noted the presence of critical minerals and promising areas for geological exploration, the low-carbon structure of the electricity sector — more than 90% of energy is produced by hydropower plants, which reduces the carbon footprint of mining and complies with international ESG requirements — as well as the significant strengthening of the legal and investment environment.

In addition, there are plans to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland on critical minerals.
