Kyrgyz carriers will gain access to routes to Turkey, Romania, and Ukraine under a single TRACECA permit

Kyrgyzstan has officially completed the procedure for joining the multilateral system of permits for the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor (TRACECA). This was reported by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Joining the system means that Kyrgyz international road carriers will be able to use a single TRACECA multilateral permit, which replaces the package of bilateral permits previously required for transit and transport through the project's participating countries.

The permit gives the carrier the right to carry out international freight transport through the territory of all participating countries on the route without the need to obtain separate national permits under bilateral agreements. The document:

  • is a one-time document and is valid for one round trip (in both directions);
  • allows up to two entries and exits to any country in the system;
  • is suitable for bilateral, transit, and combined transport, as well as transport to/from third countries.

After the country joins the system, Kyrgyz road carriers will be able to transport goods under a single permit to the following countries:

  • Armenia;
  • Georgia;
  • Moldova;
  • Romania;
  • Turkey;
  • Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Transport, participation in the TRACECA system will create more favorable conditions for international carriers.
