The ranking took into account opportunities for adventure tourism, the availability of walking routes, accessibility and cost of travel, safety indicators, biodiversity and traveller interest.
Kyrgyzstan stood out thanks to its mountainous landscapes, lakes and vast natural areas. A significant part of the country is covered by the Tien Shan mountains, which are ideal for trekking, horse riding, camping and exploring remote mountainous regions.
Tourists can stay in traditional yurts, go on horse-riding excursions across alpine meadows, hike around Lake Ala-Kul, visit the Skazka Canyon and learn about the nomadic culture and traditions of the Kyrgyz people.
Among the advantages of Kyrgyzstan for solo travellers are its relatively uncrowded natural areas and the opportunity to discover new places independently. At the same time, tourists can join small groups and organised tours.
As a result, Kyrgyzstan has topped the international ranking of destinations for solo adventure travel for 2026.
