Kyrgyzstan has accelerated wage growth in 2025, but remains at the bottom of the EAEU

In 2025, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union are showing mixed trends in income growth, with Kyrgyzstan standing out for its accelerating wage growth—against the backdrop of a persistent wage gap.

According to preliminary data, real wages in Kyrgyzstan increased by 9.9% in 2025, placing the country among the EAEU leaders in terms of growth rates.

For comparison:

  • Belarus — +10.9%;
  • Russia — +4.4%;
  • Armenia — +2.2%;
  • data for Kazakhstan is limited, but growth there has previously been more subdued.

Despite the acceleration, wage levels in Kyrgyzstan remain among the lowest in the union.

In 2025, the average monthly wage in the country reached approximately $508. This is:

  • lower than in Belarus ($877);
  • more than twice as low as in Russia ($1,203);
  • significantly lower than in Armenia ($783).

Thus, the rapid growth is largely of a catch-up nature.

Data on household income for 2025 is partially missing, but previous trends indicate that Kyrgyzstan is among the group of countries with high growth rates, alongside Belarus and Russia.

At the same time, Kazakhstan has shown a slowdown. In 2025, real household income there fell to 97.3% of the previous year’s level.
