Kyrgyzstan was invited to chair this committee under the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP.) This is a significant achievement for the country, as it is the first time it has entered the committee and immediately in the chairman's status. The Forum has 18 members, including ministers of digitalization from various countries, elected for a 3-year term. The Minister of Digital Development Nuria Kutnaeva represents Kyrgyzstan at this important event.
Earlier, Kyrgyz representatives were not part of this forum, which emphasizes the particular importance and significance of the current appointment. In addition to Kyrgyzstan, countries such as Austria, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, the United States, Korea, China, Russia, Azerbaijan, the Philippines and the Maldives are represented on the committee. Benefits of the Kyrgyz chairmanship include access to advanced knowledge and practices in the field of information and communication technologies, strengthening partnerships with UNESCAP member states and international organizations, participation in strategic initiatives for the development of digital infrastructure; and strengthening Kyrgyzstan's international authority in the digital sphere.
This appointment will enable Kyrgyzstan to actively participate in developing the region's digital economy and expanding cooperation with other countries. For reference: APIS is an initiative to promote the region's digital initiatives, reduce the digital divide and contribute to its sustainable development.
